About the episode:

To kickoff this series, we have a conversation with Harry Tan, a 69 year-old retiree, about his guiding principles that have served him well throughout his 31-year illustrious career. He began with an electrical and electronic engineering degree that landed him his first job in the semi-conductor industry at HP (Hewlett-Packard), and finally retiring as Managing Director in the Swiss automation industry in Singapore.

Harry describes himself as a ‘competitive’ person whose father’s emphasis on pursuing excellence has stuck with him throughout his career – guiding him to find where he can stand out and how to add value to the company and people around him. As the conversation deepens, Harry highlights the importance of self-awareness in order to improve the gaps in knowledge, and how to march forward through all decisions whether right or wrong.
